FAQs
-
Do I need to be in another Target Training program to participate? No, but Target Train Your Brain is designed to complement physical training such as the 10 Week Workout and the Target Training Online Institute.
-
What if I cannot attend every session live? It is recommended that all dancers attend the sessions live. However, the first portion of all classes, where Savannah is outlining that week's topic, will be recorded. Once the discussion begins, the recording will be stopped.
-
Do I need any special equipment? No special equipment is required. Dancers will be asked to bring basic writing tools (pen/pencil, paper) and will be provided with a PDF of the TTYB workbook. Savannah will inform dancers when workbook pages need to be printed prior to sessions.
-
When will I receive the workbook and class information? Workbook will be mailed to each dancer before the first classes.
-
How will I know what to do between classes? The workbook provided will guide you with exercises, journaling, and activities to apply the skills you are learning.
-
What if my dancers is U9 or younger? At this time, the TTYB program is only available for dancers U10 and up.
-
What if my dancer has participated in TTYB before? Mental skills grow stronger through repetition just like physical training. Therefore, while content will be similar, TTYB is still a valuable refresher for dancers. The Spring TTYB program has also been adapted to incorporate new topics and offer even more opportunity for individualized application of these skills via more 1-1 sessions.

What people are saying about TTYB
“The TTYB program truly changed my training and how I approached it. Working with Savannah helped develop a clear and personal plan for working through my competition nerves. I had my best dance day ever at the Oireachtas following my work with Savannah and I could not be more grateful for her and the TTYB program!”
- Jenna P, dancer
"TTYB has changed our family’s entire dance experience. The coaches have given my dancer tools she uses to work through the inevitable tough emotions that accompany dance. My dancer is more confident on and off the stage, and this has translated to happier dancing and improved results. TTYB provides mental strength for competition, which for our family is as important as physical strength. From practice to competition to school and family life, TTYB is truly an asset to athletes at any level.
Thank you for this opportunity. TTYB has really been the key to Kaia’s confidence and performance success. I kind of think of it as a magical black box (as I don’t really know what they talk about or do) that helps make competition day better. We used to have tears at almost every competition, but now K has the tools to put those emotions into a more positive perspective."
- Hilary T, dance parent
"TTYB has truly been a life changing experience. I started Target Train Your Brain two years ago when I was gearing up for oireachtas. First of all I always felt super comfortable to share both my triumphs and my struggles. All the coaches were super kind and understanding whenever I explained what were some of my problems and gave me new ways to work through those negatives. I used to break down at almost every negative experience but now I remember some positive advice the coaches gave and feel better almost instantly. I also believe people around me feel better when I'm not constantly overthinking or stressing. I recommend this program to any dancer of any age and any level because it has made me a better person all around. It also has taught me to never be afraid to share your own struggles and be more confident in your dancing and your mind."
- Kaia T., dancer
